Twenty years ago, 8-year-old Emma Brody's abusive mother smashed Emma's face into a bathroom mirror just for pilfering in the mother's makeup drawer. Today, Emma is an independent, self-assured woman who plays violin in a popular Celtic folk band in Chicago. Emma lives life on her own terms, only without sight -- the result of the traumatic injuries to her eyes at the hands of her mother. Luckily for Emma, medical science has vaulted a quantum leap in the past two decades. Now, thanks to corneal implants installed by her kindly eye surgeon, Dr. Ryan Pierce, Emma can see again. Emma's sight is at first cloudy, and she suffers from 'retroactive hallucinations,' a clinically documented syndrome in which the newly sighted sometimes 'see' things hours, or even days, after they actually happen. This becomes a big problem when Emma sees a suspicious man leaving her neighbor's apartment at 4AM, but his features appear to her only in flashback later that morning. After failing to get a response at the neighbor's door, Emma tries to convince detective John Hallstrom and his partner Tom Ridgely to check things out. At first, Hallstrom dismisses Emma as a nutcase, but when the cops finally arrive on the scene, they find the guy murdered, using the same MO as a series of killings that Hallstrom and Ridgely are already investigating. Emma herself is in danger, because she's the only person who can identify the killer. Hallstrom's colleagues remain doubtful because Emma's vision flawed. When the killer begins to stalk Emma, Hallstrom has her placed under police protection, and the two soon become lovers while Hallstrom tries to figure out who the killer is.

There was no history of the box 'in this film, but it certainly was a mystery - a mystery over who was the murderer. But not only that, but there is a murderer. And the main witness was a woman who was not of great vision and was a recipient of a cornea transplant. Throughout the viewer has to wonder if there really is a murderer. You may suspect that the doctor for a good reason. Perhaps one of the policemen as well. The writers certainly keeps you in sufficient time to discover who the murderer and the woman before he or she was blind. In general, it's a pretty good movie. Not very exciting, but enough to see again someday. "B-"

There was a lot of psychological thriller in this decade, often accumulates with sex and gratuitous violence. BLINK family uses these conventions, but becomes a powerful thriller with compelling characters, ominous shots of camera, and very well-written script. Stars Madeline Stowe as a blind violinist club the band is back with a view lucky (or unlucky) cornea transplant. She has difficulty in adapting to the world to see, after having identified the recurring images in his back at inopportune moments. Even with this handicap, she believes it has witnessed a murderer escape, but his greatest achievement was convincing the police department's credibility. Aidan Quinn (under rated talent) plays the Chicago police believed that its claim and falls in love with her in the process. What really is BLINK is honesty in the tracks' emotions, fear of attention again after the conventional one-night-stands. The atmosphere is more suspenseful, with the view of Stowe as a real mystery in itself. Amid all the shit that has radiated from this type of DVD film Blink offers BLINK something credible for a change. Rating: Three stars.

Madeline Stowe in "The Last of the Mohicans" fame as a star BLINK Feisty musician undergoes a new type of eye surgery to restore his vision, the loss in childhood at the hands of an abusive mother. As his vision slowly returns, runs afoul of a murderer who believes he has received a good look at him, and now beyond. She tells the police, it is not surprising that they laugh at her. The irony is, she sees only the murderer as a kind of surreal, with the camera serving as Stowe's vision and shows us what amounts to little more than ghosts. She also suffers from mental deficiencies while returning to his vision. Stowe just fall burly police Aidan Quinn, who decides who is telling the truth and protect it. There is a good trick to end the involvement of the murderer. Suspenseful and stylish for its time, with careful action Stowe.
