The first crusade to free the Holy Land has ended. A mass of weary knights, squires, soldiers of fortune and priests are making their way home across a Europe that has changed forever. George, a handsome English knight, unsettled by the horrendous bloodletting he witnessed in Palestine, desires to hang up his sword and settle down to a quiet, peaceful life. On returning to England, George heads north where he's heard the land is good and the population sparse and of a kindly King named Edgaar. He finds King Edgaar in a terrible state. His beautiful daughter, Lunna has recently disappeared. In return for a small plot of land, George agrees to search for Princess Lunna. With Edgaar's faithful servant, Elmendorf, George sets out. George discovers both the princess and the truth behind her strange disappearance. The quest now set before them ends in a love, a lie and a legend that has lasted a thousand years.

I had been reading about this George and the Dragon Adventure for a while and thought that the idea of a humorous story of the legend of George and the dragon had potential. However, the George and the Dragon Adventure was never widely published. So I was watching the Sci Fi channel on a boring Saturday and suddenly appeared this DivX film George and the Dragon (under the generic name of "Dragon Sword"). I quickly realized this was the "George and the Dragon" movie, which had been wanting to see. However, I did not have high expectations. But ultimately, it is not so bad. It has some major problems. The plot becomes a bit incoherent at times. The editing is not good. The special effects are not good (and I'm not very demanding about such things). However, the players lifted slightly above mediocrity. James Purefoy is fun to see how the horse tired of war, which only wants "an acre and two head of cows and is in a strange trip. Piper Perabo is cute as the brave princess (but never adequately explained why he is so obsessed with dragons). Their relationship follows the usual path of such films: antagonism followed by mutual attraction. The players are very good too. Keep your expectations low and you'll enjoy the movie. It could have been much better but it's pretty high quality for the Sci Fi Channel.

I had been waiting to see this DivX Movie George and the Dragon through weeks of publicity and I was not disappointed. The story was well written, with several interesting twists. The DVD film George and the Dragon is a mixture of legend and farce and is very well done. It's fast and with a good mix of seriousness and play. James Purefoy is excellent. His voice, his look, his charisma is a knightly hero should be. His performance is extraordinary and comical moment was over. I had enjoyed in his small role in "A Knight's Tale" and wondered if the promise was evident in the George and the Dragon Adventure film that will more than others. His performance surpassed my expectations. The other actors and actresses play their roles well, too. They did an incredible story credible ... Well, almost. The address was not the machine, maintaining the slight spontaneity of the film. Were great costumes, beautiful set, the script was very funny. However, this is a George and the Dragon Adventure you would recommend to my friends.

This is a sweet little George and the Dragon movie - too bad it's so horrible to have problems of distribution. I believe that many children enjoy it, and it is very watchable for adults too! Especially since James Purefoy is wonderful in it. After his performance in "Vanity Fair", a serious and wrenching drama, it's good to know that he is able to make a fun, light movie, too. Everyone is great and, apart from Patrick Swayze, who has just kind of walk through your paper. Even the simple, small type fairy tale dialogue sounded just terrible, the fall from his mouth as groups of half-chewed food. Of course, the CGI dragons are not quite as slick as you want it to be in 2005, but the picture is beautiful, and editing is quick and keeps the pace rolling along a good clip. I mention that James Purefoy is wonderful? And the outtakes at the end are great!
