| A science fiction DVD movie Puppet Masters, The turns out to be less than expected is disappointing to lose this adaptation of Robert A. Heinlein 's novel. Donald (dame Moreover abroad pod film) Sutherland plays the role of Adam "Old" Nivens, head of an agency to protect the secrecy of government has its hands full trying to stop an alien invasion by slug-like mental parasites that tap the brains of people to control their own purposes. Eric Thal (a strange BETWEEN U.S.) drew a blank a strong character that should be the role of Sam, son of man, and fellow agent. Julie Warner (DOC HOLLYWOOD) fares a little better as Mary, a xenobiologist along NASA for the roller coaster. The opening scenes do justice to the setting and atmosphere of the book, and the original skeleton of the plot is unpredictable and exciting, but over time, lead to commitments to adapt to the style of Hollywood science fiction conventions such as alien hives. Several realistic elements are thrown out, along with almost all the heavy dialogue that made the book a success. However, the special effects are convincing, and cinematography and editing are simplified and tightened. Far from being definitive, this version of the story is good enough and worth a look. |
| I do not understand, however, why so much deviation from the book. Heinlein and everything was created. All you need is to be turned into a screenplay. With only a minimal amount of CGI is necessary that the story takes place in the very near future. In the book, Venus was a crucial part of the story and when Heinlein wrote the book, almost nothing is known about the planet and could have been a habitable place. We know better now, but still, a prologue to the beginning of the film: Puppet Masters, The indicating that these events occur in an alternate universe where Venus habitable who have worked better than the version of Heinlein is much more interesting and gritty. I could have accepted. Thal was quite the mental image I had of Sam's book. Sutherland was not at all my mental image of Sam pop, but still, Sutherland's role on the ground. In fact, excellent. Foreigners were not for my mental image of the book, but still a good representation. Definitely it is bad bad foreign aliens. Worth seeing? Sure, why not. If you're in the video rental shop in the science fiction of debate to rent supernova starring Luke Perry and the film, rent it. He was cursing and swearing that if the rental of supernova and complete loss of their hard-earned money to get at least some entertainment out of it. One dead hoof to me to show at least some images from the book of Heinlein and my mental images come alive. One died unnecessarily hoof down to deviate from Heinlein book. |
| An interesting adaptation of Robert Heinlein in the original story about aliens who come to Earth and take over a small city such as control of pests in their host bodies. This Puppet Masters, The film was made in 1994 and I think a nice view. It is true that is very different from the source material. Heinlein The book is very different as are most of the film: Puppet Masters, The adaptations of books. But I found it interesting without being overbearing. I liked the lead in this film: Puppet Masters, The and Donald Sutheland chew the scenery as the leader of an organization that appears, but that is not going too mentioned ET game occasionally. He is a great actor and added to the film, so it's just that much more enjoyable. There are other films that deal with the same type of material, most notabely the movie: Puppet Masters, The "The Faculty," which has exactly the same idea with little parasite linked to people, but this film: Puppet Masters, The is well on its own and in spite of this I am sure to find your own little niche of fans. |
| Problem # 1: The main problem with this DVD movie Puppet Masters, The is its script ridiculous. The movie: Puppet Masters, The can not decide if he wants to be a mindless action Puppet Masters, The movie or a character-driven science fiction drama. So what you get is a story of alien invasion that all it takes to get "infected" by aliens, but somehow he was saved by his friends while dozens of extras get infected cut by machine-gun fire. If a character is infected, your friends to reach all sorts of ways to peel off Critter abroad, but if farmers Joe is running on an ear locked, no one doubts that the pump is full of holes. Problem # 2: Richard Belzer is in this movie: Puppet Masters, The and given a single funny line! SPOILER: When his character ice cream itself, I felt as if Richard Belzer as saying, "This DivX film Puppet Masters, The sucks, I'm here." Problem 3: The final action sequence helicopter cliché. It seemed as if they shot another Puppet Masters, The Horror movie or something on the label and only the bottom of this. |
